Kim Hono (1958 - )

Potter

Born in 1958 in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. After graduating from the Aichi Prefectural Ceramics Advanced Vocational Training School (now reorganised as the Nagoya Technology College of Ceramics), he worked at a ceramic studio in Seto. In 1985, at the age of 27, he held his first solo exhibition, and since then has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan and abroad, winning many awards. He currently has a studio in Jokoji, Seto, where he has been creating original works of art for over 30 years.

1982 Built a kiln in Seto and became independent

1985 Solo exhibition of [Clay, Plate, Bottle] at Shinei Gallery, Nagoya

2015 Published a book titled "Time for Coffee" from Seibundo-Shinkousha, a collection of conversations between ceramic artist Kim Hono and Katsuji Obo, who has written for Katsuji Obo's book "Obo Coffee Shop
