Wolfgang Seierl (1955 - )
Painter
Born 1955, Vienna. Studied painting, philosophy, guitar, musicology and composition in Vienna and Salzburg. As a painter, Seierl has had solo and group exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Belgium, France and other parts of Europe, as well as in Japan, Taiwan and the USA. He has also given numerous performances and concerts nationally and internationally, and has received numerous awards in the fields of both music and art.

1973 Studied at the University of Fine Arts and the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, later at the University "Mozarteum" in Salzburg
1987 From this time, grants to work in various countries, Berlin(1987), Paris (1988, 1992, 1995), New York (1989), Budapest (1990), Kraków (1992/93) and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts/USA (1993).
1991 Invited to participate in an international symposium for painting in Werfen/Austria.
Commission of the airport Salzburg for a painting on the outside front of the airport in relation to the genius of W.A.Mozart.
1995 Invited to participate in a symposium in the convent of St.Lambrecht/Austria.
1997 Commission for a mural painting in Salzburg.
1999/2000 grant to work in Frankfurt (Germany)
2003 Portfolio "Le Projecteur", etchings and engravings, together with Gert Jonke (Éditions Akié Arichi, Paris)
2004 Travel to India.
2005 Grant to work in Warszawa/Poland.
2006 travel to Japan.
2007 Residency at the Atelier Outotsu in Nishinomiya/Japan.
