Yoshiko Jinzenji

Irodori-The world of natural dyes

2012.9.1-9.16

It has been 25 years since we set up a workshop in Bali, Indonesia.

The quest for the world of materials and creation by Yoshiko Jinzenji is endless.

However, it is a fact that time will surely overlap and we will have to think about the end of the workshop that we will visit someday.

And she asks herself.

"Am I properly passing on this world I have sought to the next generation?"

This time, the colors of subtropical natural dyes will be unfolded.

Cloths and shawls dyed with plants just below the equator, such as the yellow of Soga and the red of Suho, on the divine white dyed with green bamboo, which was once announced by heri for the first time in the world.

"Natural dyes are a treasure of time."

The colors that have been aged for 10 to 20 years or more are now dancing here.

She talks.

"The world of natural dyes is beautiful, but we must awaken to the essentials behind it. And human beings are living things and are part of this universe."

The reason why many people are attracted to the creation of her is the words spun from the world and experience that her deep and pure way of life finds.

Perhaps each one faces a simple truth.

There will also be a valuable work full of primitive texture, which was collected by stepping into the subtropical jungle 17 years ago and dyeing the fibers and tapa (bark) of uroppudoyo that grows in power Kalimantan with natural dyes.

I sincerely hope that many people will see and feel the world of this innocent artist.
