We are pleased to introduce the two-person exhibition “The Observer,” currently on view at TUCK BANGKOK in Bangkok and closing on Sunday, February 15. This exhibition brings together Bangkok-based Tuck Muntarbhorn and Sadaharu Horio, a member of the Gutai Art Association. Presented as the inaugural exhibition for the newly created space “Sanctuary” at TUCK BANGKOK, the show features, with the cooperation of our gallery, works from Horio’s ongoing series including A Tale of 1000 GO 1000 Pictures (2016), among others.
The exhibition title originates from the cover of the November 2025 issue of the British newspaper The Observer, which featured Tuck Muntarbhorn quietly gazing at a work by Lee Bae. True to Muntarbhorn’s words—“To observe is to awaken. To look closely is to enter the heart”—the exhibition centers on the acts of seeing, listening, and noticing. We warmly invite you to experience on site the attitude that “to see is to create,” and a space where the visible and invisible, light and gesture, ritual and accumulated time intersect.

TUCK BANGKOK
TUCK BANGKOK - derived from the Thai phrase meaning “to greet Bangkok” - is an art and design sanctuary situated between Phrom Phong and Thonglor, conceived by artist and cultural thinker Tuck. Drawing from Asian ancestral knowledge while engaging the currents of global contemporary practice, it operates not as a gallery or showroom, but as a living environment where silence is a form of poetry and where art and design serve as an economic and cultural bridge across Asia.
Each year, TUCK BANGKOK convenes a cross-cultural exhibition that brings together artists, architects and designers from across the region, fostering creativity, dialogue and shared enterprise. Its vision is shaped by Tuck’s lineage - from Thailand’s first heart-open surgeon and a pioneering couturier to growing up in a neighbourhood named after Thailand’s first entrepreneur - informing a space where heritage and innovation continually converge, fueling a new cultural momentum for Asia’s creative future.
