Goo Nakayama
Calligrapher

Born in Iki Island, Nagasaki Prefecture in 1975. He attend a calligraphy class from the second grade of elementary school to the graduation of junior high school. At the age of 40, he was impressed by the free and dynamic expression of calligrapher Yuichi Inoue, and began to search for his own free expression method using ink and paper. He spent more than a year working on works like hieroglyphs with the motif of "birds". The number of works exceeded 1000, and gradually the theme of the subject was diverse. Eventually it became his character. While looking at the work that appeared in front of me, I thought about the ancient people who created the characters long ago, learned about the oracle bone script and grammatology that are the origin of Chinese characters, and learned about my own expression. We are always deepening our flexible consideration. Birds, moons, flowers, ALIVE, PAIN, stars, nothing ... Little by little, I continue to increase my own "characters" that spring up from my roots.
