Junpei Omori (1979 - )

Potter

Born 1979. Studied ceramics at Kyoto Seika University's Faculty of Fine Arts, and was shocked to see the more decorative Jomon pottery, Kaen Pottery, at a museum, and since then has produced works on the theme of 'Jomon'.

In 2010, he won first prize in the Montblanc Young Patronage public vote and held a solo exhibition at the Ginza flagship shop, and in 2012, he participated in an artist in residence in Denmark, where his work was collected by the Denmark Keramik Museum. The same year he was represented at ASIA WEEK NY 2012, where his work made the front page of the NY newspaper.

In recent years, his reputation has been growing not only in Japan but also abroad, including the solo exhibition "JOUMON -resurrection & re-creation" (Gallery NAO MASAKI) in Nagoya in 2019 and participation in "Art Barsel" in Switzerland in the same year. 2020. Megumi Ogita Gallery held his third solo exhibition 'Liberation & construction'.
