Miho Kajioka
Photographer

Born in Okayama in 1973. Currently based in Paris.
Studied painting and photography in San Francisco and Montreal. After returning to Japan, worked in journalism in Tokyo. Resumed artistic activities following the Great East Japan Earthquake. In 2019, became the first Japanese recipient of the prestigious Nadar Prize, awarded to the best photography book published in France, gaining significant attention.

In 2016, released a handmade artist book titled "And, where did the peacocks go?"(original title: ソレカラ、クジャク達ハ ドコヘ行ッタノ?), which weaves together memories of the people and places encountered during earthquake coverage and the artist's own sensibilities. The book and its accompanying exhibition received critical acclaim. In 2022, the work was restructured and published as "And, do you still hear the peacocks?"(original title: 今デモ マダ クジャクノ声 聞コエマスカ?).

Currently, the artist continues to create while traveling between Japan and Paris, presenting works primarily in Europe and North America.
