Welcome to Eiji Uematsu's exhibition for the first time in 4 years!
The venue is full of soft soil. It connects with the air that spreads out in the garden of Mr. Uematsu, who is full of nature. For example, I have an innocent eye like a child who discovers something in familiar things, so I am deeply impressed with how I can find various figures in the landscape every day.
The title of this time, "The Stars in the Garden," ... When you find a lot of gentle and deep earth colors and brilliance, you can see the creator who is happy to work. And, in the appearance of the container that seems to have been born from the soil as it is, the figure of Mr. Uematsu who is thoughtful and feels the depth of the original bosom of the soil is reflected.
Whether it's a vase, a ceramic plate, an object, or a clay roller, Uematsu's work can easily go beyond its intended use and enter this world. Before I knew it, a glittering landscape spread out in front of me. Such people and works.
In recent years, his work has been flapping from the classification by material, and is gaining recognition in the world of contemporary art such as Frieze New York 2018. Please enjoy the earthy world of Mr. Uematsu, a group of mature and fresh works.

Born in Kobe in 1949.
1972, I was attracted to natural materials from my work on a flat surface and touched the soil. And checking the quality of the soil is the beginning of work in the soil.
Entered Shigaraki from Tokyo in 1975, and while working at a factory, he felt the soil and continued his own production.
Presented at a group exhibition in 1981.
In 1982, the residence and workplace were moved to Marubashira, Iga City, and traces of soil and fire took shape.
Since his first solo exhibition in 1986, he has participated in solo and group exhibitions nationwide, and has created vessels in his daily life.
