【Junpei Omori participates "dimensions of dialogue feel across"@Mizusai, Tokyo】

As late summer approaches, we can feel a pleasant coolness in the mornings and evenings. Starting this weekend, on Saturday, August 31st, our affiliated artist Jumpei Omori will be participating in an exhibition at Mizusai in Taito City, Tokyo. This will be a two-person exhibition with Takeshi Shinohara, who has previously exhibited at our gallery. The theme of this exhibition is "Creating a shared space through dialogue," and it attempts to explore what kind of expression can emerge from an intergenerational dialogue. Omori will be present at the gallery on weekends, so please do come and visit.

The exhibition closes at 17:00 on the final day.

We are hosting a two-person exhibition featuring Takeshi Shinohara and Junpei Omori. The theme this time is "Creating a shared space through dialogue." The two artists, with a significant age gap between them, have incorporated the "layers" they felt during their dialogue into their works. Please enjoy the power of the artworks expressed in various media and the space they create.

Takeshi Shinohara Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1951. Graduated from Osaka University of Arts, Faculty of Arts in 1973, and from Pratt Institute in NY in 1981. He creates works that express realistic issues such as the constant cycle of nature and its relationship with human activities, without distinguishing between three-dimensional and two-dimensional, or abstract and figurative art.

Junpei Omori Born in Nagoya in 1979. He studied ceramics at Kyoto Seika University's Faculty of Arts. After being deeply impressed by the decorative flame-shaped Jomon pottery at a museum, he began creating works themed around "Jomon." In 2012, he participated in a residency in Denmark, and his work was collected by the Denmark Keramik Museum. In the same year, he was featured on the front page of a New York newspaper as a representative at ASIA WEEK NY 2012. His reputation is growing not only domestically but also internationally, including participation in "Art Basel" in Switzerland in 2019.
